HomeCounseling, Apex, NCLGBT Counselor, Apex, NC

As an LGBT counselor, I provide compassionate, nonjudgmental therapy services.

As a therapist, I know how important it is to be able to trust your mental health provider to respond to your lived experience with empathy and compassion. As an LGBT counselor, I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space where all of my clients can explore their inner worlds without fear of judgment or discrimination. That’s why I focus on building trust with my clients first and foremost.

LGBT Counselor in Apex, North Carolina

I always say that in therapy, you must “start where you are.” I love this phrase because, while it sounds simple, wherever you find yourself as you begin therapy is anything but simple. For members of the LGBTQ+ community, this often means starting with a lifetime of internalized shame, identity-related stress, and societal stigma. My goal as an LGBT counselor is to support you as you explore whatever it is that brings you to therapy, whether or not it relates specifically to your orientation or identity. It is enough simply to understand that your life experiences are valid and worthy of honoring as you work on your therapy goals.

My approach to therapy is to always be person-centered instead of problem-centered. I strive to offer down-to-earth and practical support while always being trustworthy and kind. My own life experiences inform how I serve others in my work as an LGBT counselor, and that’s why judgment and criticism have no place in my practice.
